Games scheduled to take place this week as the 2017 Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division II season have been postponed.
The fixtures have been rescheduled to the final round of the season which is originally set to end on December 2; with the new development, the season’s schedule will be extended.
Fixtures have been moved to allow players, referees and some league officials participate in the Cape-Coast Basketball Festival popularly known as “Afahy3 Tournament”.
The annual tournament takes place in Ghana’s Central regional capital, Cape-Coast, during the town’s Fetu Afahy3 Festival early in September and has several teams representing regions in the country participate.
Division II outfits including DC Aspirants, Novas Academy, Junior Rangers, Ghana Police and Reformers of Prisons will be affected by the change in schedule since the aforementioned sides had ties this week.
This development is the latest postponement to hit the young new season following the rain induced cancellation that forced games over the past weekend.
Ties involving Akatsi Rifles and Spartans were honored on Monday at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu with both teams recording losses.
