Former world champion Argenis Mendez from Dominican Republic has revealed he want to fight with Richard Commey next after beating reigning IBO Lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe.
Mendez will fight Tagoe on August 26th at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, as the latter will be making his first defense of his IBO lightweight belt.
According to Mendez, he is not perturbed fighting Tagoe at his native country, stressing that he will beat the Ghanaian after that he want to fight Commey.
“None at all. The goal is to become a two-time world champion. I have the best trainer in the world in Ace (Asa Beard) and together, there is no stopping us. I’m ready to become a two-time world champion and Tagoe is in the way. Nothing is going to stop us,” he told BoxingAfrica.com.
“As for fighting in front of his fans, I want to tell everybody in Ghana that I am excited to display my boxing ability in Africa! I know the fans there are great and I love the prospects of fighting there!
“And after I am done with Tagoe, I want Richard Commey! This is a fight that makes sense for us in the ring and also financially. Team Mendez is ready to make that happen. I fear nobody!.”
