Head Coach of the Spanish National team, Vincente Del Bosque has explained why he needs Iñaki Williams inside his set-up for the Euros in France this summer.
Williams, 21, who was born to a Ghanaian mother and a Liberian father has been in scintillating form for Athletic Club de Bilbao in the La Liga scoring a total of 14 goals and emerging as the youngest ever player to score 10 goals in Europe this season.
His exploits for Bilbao have caught the attention of both the handlers of the Black Stars and Spain, who are keen to have the wonder kid commit his international future to them.
However, the head coach of the Spanish national team, Vincente Del Bosque has taken a big leap in this race by professing his admiration for the player and reason why he needs him for the upcoming European Championship in France.
“There’s also Inaki Williams at Athletic, whom we consider more of a striker than a wing player. “He has great speed and is playing with the Spain under-21s. All of them are in my head and we will call on the ones we think are the most convenient. We will try to bring the best.”
“In addition to the mention of Alvaro Morata, Iago Aspas, Paco Alcacer, Diego Costa, Imanol Agirretxe, Borja Baston, Lucas Perez and Aritz Aduriz.”
Meanwhile, the Ghana football Association are also reported to have opened discussions with the player and are keen on bringing him on-board for future tournaments.
Iñaki Williams has already represented Spain at the U-21 level but is still eligible to play for Ghana.
