GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi insists their plans for the 2017 AFCON will not be affected despite the change of government.
Ghana’s opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo was last Friday declared the winner of the 2016 presidential elections and will take over from President John Mahama on January 7, 2017 exactly one week before the start of the AFCON .
There is a likelihood that a new Sports Minister will not be named before the start of the tournament, this many believe can affect the Black Stars.
But GFA Boss Kwesi Nyantakyi who has experienced change of government during his administration remains confident the situation won’t have any adverse on the teams campaign at the Gabon tournament.
“I’m not sure it would have any effect on us at the tournament”.
“It happened in 2009 when we went on to gold at the U20 World Cup in Egypt,” he told Ghanafans.com.
