Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson reckons Conor McGregor doesn’t stand a chance in next month’s boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.
The two will meet on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but Tyson believes the Irish mixed martial artist will lose badly.
“McGregor is going to get killed boxing,” Tyson told Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast.
Bookmakers agree with Iron Mike’s verdict, as the champion boxer Mayweather is the heavy favourite.
Tyson is confident Mayweather will be victorious as the bout is a boxing match and it will follow boxing rules.
“I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy?”
“McConor put his dumbass in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because [Mayweather’s] been doing this all his life since he was a baby,” said Tyson, who confused McGregor’s names during the interview.
“McConor can’t kick and grab and stuff, so he won’t stand much of a chance.”
Tyson added that if he had fought with McGregor, he would have allowed the MMA champion to use his legs.
