Former Inter Allies winger Evans Mensah and his teammates at HJK Helsinki was last night Wednesday 27th September crowned as the Finland league champions after they beat IFK Mariehamin 1-0 at the Telia 5G-Areena with five games to end the season.
The Klubi lads has won 19, drawn 7 and lost 2 games out of 28 games played and scored 64 goals with a point accumulation of 64 after yesterday’s win to lift their 28th Veikkausliiga trophy.
Mensah has been an integral member of the team as he has managed to scored 9 goals so far in the league and also helping in winning the Suomen Cup (Finnish Cup) on Saturday September 23.
Meanwhile, his countryman and former Hearts of Oak and Black Stars midfielder Anthony Annan’s wonder strike from outside the box on Wednesday evening was enough to secure the team’s double.
The 19-year old speedster was on the bench for HJK as he was just returning from an injury he suffered in a league game a forth night ago.
