Black Stars deputy captain Andre Ayew could not win the 2015 African footballer of the year award after finishing third behind eventual winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyung and runner Yaya Toure.
The Swansea City star for the second time in four years failed to clinch the accolade having missed out on the award in 2011.
Aubameyung after his sterling performance for his Club Brussia Dortmund wins the prestigious award for the first time after beating competition from his competitors.
Previous winner Yaya Toure who was hoping to set a record as they only African player to win the award for a fifth consecutive time has to settle for second place.
