Ghana’s triple jump queen Nadia Eke says she is unfazed by the pressure of competing at the 2017 IAAF World Championship which begins on August 4.
The 24 year-old, who became African Champion in 2016, will be making her debut at the world stage after showing brilliant form throughout the 2017 season.
Nadia disclosed in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports that she was not bothered by the magnitude of the occasion but was actually looking forward to competing in front of the huge London crowd.
“I am a very competitive person. So even in my practices I have the mindset to do as well as I can,” she said.
“Whether I’m at a competition with two people or a million, it never changes the setting for me. It’s constantly about how I can improve no matter the occasion.
“So I’m very excited to compete and I know the stadium is going o be sold out but it doesn’t change anything. I’m still going out to be the best Nadia I can be in that moment.”
Nadia will start her campaign on August 5 in the qualification round.
